The triple slate Genoese roof is installed using a lime mortar and cement binding which is laid also between the slates either on a wooden pitch or one made of reinforced concrete. As with the other roofs, the slates are laid from the lowest point, i.e. the eaves and the slates are of different dimensions to other tiles. The slates are laid in such a way that each tile covers two thirds of the tile underneath. In his way the finished roof has a triple overlay. It is also possible to fix the slates with zinc nails.
